My role as a WA State-Certified RND is to support CNAs and Individual Providers (IP) who care for clients in their private homes. I also consult with Adult Family Homes to help them comply with State regulations.

RND plays a crucial role in:

  1. Assessing the client: determines if care will be stable and predictable.

  2. Determining if delegation is required.

  3. Teaching the CNA or IP the nursing task to be delegated.

  4. Evaluating the CNA/IP's performance of the task to ensure safety.

  5. Supervising the workers' task performance on an ongoing basis.

  6. Supervising the client's condition.
